It does not ask you to inspect exposed wiring or open electrical equipment.
Before the assessment
- Keep the inspection report and available electrical permits together.
- List rooms mentioned in the report and any areas you cannot access normally.
- Record planned renovations and finishes that need protection.
- For a shared building, identify who can authorize common-area access.
- Ask the insurer what document it actually requires, if insurance prompted the inquiry.
Compare the written scopes
- Which circuits and rooms are included?
- What old wiring will remain, and what does that mean?
- Who handles openings, patching and decoration?
- Are permit, inspection and panel work included or separate?
- How are concealed conditions and changes authorized?
- What records will identify the completed scope?
